Public Library International
Registration for a Library Card
Adults need to present their ID card (or their passport along with their certificate of residency).
For children and young people under the age of 18, a parent (or legal guardian) needs to sign the registration form.

By the way: Registered refugees can get a free six-month library card. For this purpose, you need to present your passport and registration certificate at the library.

As a member of the Bergisch Gladbach Public Library, you can borrow a wide range of media - in German, but also in many other languages. In the library's online catalogue you can filter your search results by language, e. g. Arabic, English, French, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Russian or Turkish. We offer:
- Novels, children's books and audio books
- Films on DVD (usually different soundtracks and subtitles can be selected)
- Complete language courses, dictionaries and more
Our online resources are available in different languages as well:
- E-books, e-audios, e-learning courses and more in the Bergische Onleihe - both for entertainment and language learning
- Films in the streaming portal Filmfriend (selectable languages and subtitles)
- And of particular interest: the language learning platform Rosetta Stone

You can either download the Rosetta Stone App on your smart device or you can use the browser version. All you need for this is a valid library card from the Bergisch Gladbach Public Library.

During a guided library tour, we will give insight into our services for German learners, like dictionaries, German course books and the Rosetta Stone app, for instance. An overview of the library's foreign language materials will also be provided. In particular, we will explain how to borrow and return media and how to use our online resources.
